Supporting Students To Take Advantage of Early Post Secondary Opportunities

Early Post Secondary Opportunity Grants

The Education Foundation for Clinton City & Anderson County Schools provides a variety of services for Anderson County and Clinton City Schools. As a result of the success of a variety of fundraising and other grant awards, the Foundation is pleased to offer the opportunity to apply for funds to support high school students in taking advantage of early postsecondary opportunities in Anderson County Schools through Dual Enrollment, TDOE Promoted Student Industry Certifications, and AP Exams.

For Dual Enrollment, EPSO grant proposals can be submitted once each year for one class. The student applying for the Dual Enrollment Grant must provide a printout of their Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation (TSAC) awards for the current semester/school year and their high school transcript with their application.

For TDOE Promoted Student Industry Certifications, the student must have exhausted their opportunities for testing through the Perkins Reserve Grant with the school district in order to apply for this grant during the semester/year the student is enrolled in the class aligned to the certification. The student applying for the Student Industry Certification Grant must provide their previous testing results and their high school transcript with their grant application.

For AP Exams, the student must not qualify for assistance through the TDOE grant (verified by the counselor), must have successfully completed one AP Course and scored in the range to receive postsecondary credit, and must have the recommendation of the instructor for the course and their high school counselor. The student applying for the AP Exam Grant must provide their previous AP Exam results and their high school transcript with their grant application.

Note: A student may only be awarded one EPSO Grant one time per year.

Grant award recipients will be notified by email within 10 days of submission/closing date for applications (10th of each month during the semester of enrollment). Grant recipients will have payment made in their name directly to the institution designated on the grant application for dual enrollment grants or to ACCTC/ACHS/CHS for:

  1. required textbook purchases for the Dual Enrollment course, or
  2. for TDOE promoted student Industry Certifications, or
  3. the for the identified AP Exam as designated by the student in the application.
